Incredible India

India is indeed incredible .To explore the past of this phenomenal country, some of my friends and I planned a trip to Murshidabad followed by Plassey . The historic city of Murshidabad lies on the bank of the river Bhagirathi, a distributor of the Ganga that very rarely comes across the minds of youths. But the mesmerizing beauty of Murshidabad is undefined. As soon as I stepped on Murshidabad station, the smell of the wet soil (Kachchimitti) attracted me to the glorious past of India . We spent our day by visiting the Hazarduari Mahal , the Nasir Palace , the Kathgola Gardens and many other places. The next day we all left Murshidabad and set for plassey that is 40 kms away. Yes, the place Plassey where the historic battle between Siraj - ud - Daulah and Robert Clive took place on 23 June 1757. The historic battle led to the start of Durga Puja in Bengal which is a heritage . The unfortunate victory of British over India in the Battle of Plassey led the Company rule firmly set on India. A century later there was a the Sepoy Mutiny, regarded as the first war of independence where common people along with sepoys thought that they could challenge British authority but again British suppressed the revolt . For next 90 years many people gave their lives for the sake of their motherland, many led people to the path of independence and at last India got its independence on 15th August 1947. India's freedom struggle has always been an inspiration as it was one of the most non-violent movements. Not only 15th August but everyday reminds and resembles the sacrifices of millions of people who wanted to see India again flying in the sky like an independent bird. This sacrifices and gallant fights are not only in the pages of history but also in the heart of every Indian. As said by Ram Prasad Bismil - " Even if I have to face death , I shall not be sorry . Oh Lord! Grant me a hundred births in India. But grant me this , too , that each time I give up life for service of my Motherland" . Doctors , Police , Army Officers , Civil Servants and many others are our daily life heroes . Today India has a tag of developing country but everyone is trying to make it a developed country. So, today I, being an Indian can say " I am Proud To Be An Indian !!" . With these thousand thoughts we reached the station of Plassey.
